According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers winger Ryan Kent has now told Steven Gerrard that he is staying at Ibrox.

It’s claimed that Rangers are bracing themselves for an improved bid from Leeds United for Kent, following a £10million offer last week.

Leeds may well make that second offer, but Kent has allegedly made it clear that he is staying around to try and stop Celtic from winning a tenth league title in a row.

Kent allegedly wants to repay Gerrard’s faith in him by staying at Ibrox, even though Marcelo Bielsa is desperate to lure him to Elland Road.

One report from 90min claimed on Monday that Kent has asked to leave, but this report suggests that the wide man is ‘furious’ at such reports.

Gerrard is now confident that Kent is staying put, and will likely force Leeds to look elsewhere if they want to bring in a new wide man.

The Whites are looking for key additions for their return to the Premier League, but it looks like Kent can be crossed off the list.

The 23-year-old has been in strong form in the early stages of this season, bagging three goals in five outings – and it seems that Rangers can look forward to more of the same from Kent.
