Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch is very excited by the prospect of signing for Liverpool at the end of the season.

That is according to a new report from Sky Sports, who claim that Gravenberch is ‘enthusiastic’ over a switch to Liverpool.

It’s stated that Liverpool have given a ‘strong pitch’ during talks with Gravenberch’s father, also named Ryan.

Gravenberch isn’t exactly happy in Bavaria after a frustrating first season at Bayern Munich.

The 20-year-old joined Bayern from Ajax for £21million last summer having grown into a real star over in Amsterdam.

However, Gravenberch has started just one league game for Bayern this season, making 17 substitute appearances.

That means Gravenberch has only played 334 minutes of league action this term and a move away may appeal.

Liverpool are now making their move and Gravenberch appears to be interested in making the move to Anfield.

Ryan Gravenberch could be fine Jude Bellingham alternative for Liverpool

Liverpool fans have been gutted ever since it emerged that the Reds were backing away from the Jude Bellingham race.

Splashing a huge fee on one player just didn’t seem to make sense for Liverpool given how many players they need.

That means Liverpool are looking elsewhere and Gravenberch could be their man – if they can fend off Arsenal and Manchester United.

90Min claim Arsenal and United are both keen on Gravenberch with contact made from both clubs, as well as Liverpool.

Gravenberch fits a similar athletic profile to Bellingham and has real quality as a box-to-box midfielder.

The 6ft 3in Dutchman has excelled going forward and isn’t afraid to get stuck in, much like Bellingham.

Gravenberch may not be quite as rounded as Bellingham right now, even if he is a year older than the Englishman.

The big thing here is that Bayern allegedly want to get their money back for Gravenberch as well as a nice sell-on clause.

That means Liverpool may be able to sign Gravenberch for around £20million to £25million – about £100million less than Bellingham may cost.

Liverpool would still end up with a hugely talented box-to-box player and will have plenty of money to go out and sign a more proven Premier League player, maybe Mason Mount or Alexis Mac Allister.

Gravenberch will need some developing but this could be a bargain move for the Reds.
