Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers still sees Ryan Christie as part of his long term plans with the Glasgow club.
According to a report in the Daily Express, Ryan Christie could leave Celtic to join Aberdeen on loan.
The Dons are keen to sign Christie to replace James Maddison, who has returned to Norwich City.
Maddison was Aberdeen’s major creative influence in the first half of the season, and he will be tough to find cover for.
However, Aberdeen believe that Christie does have the quality to ensure that Maddison’s departure does not impact them too badly.
Brendan Rodgers is believed to see Christie as a player who could become a first-teamer at Celtic in the future, but the youngster has struggled for appearances this term.
Rodgers, therefore, is said to be keen to send Christie out on loan to aid his development.
Christie has previously been on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle, where he played seven times and scored once.
Aberdeen are currently third place in the Scottish Premiership table, two points behind Celtic’s rivals Rangers.
