Nottingham Forest look set to bring Roy Keane back to the club.

According to the Irish Independent, Roy Keane attended Nottingham Forest’s clash with Wigan Athletic on Saturday afternoon as he closes in on a move back to his former club.
Martin O’Neill picked up a first win as Forest boss, as his side beat Wigan 3-1 thanks to goals from Joe Lolley, Matty Cash and Adlene Guedioura.
O’Neill will hope to spark some momentum with this win, with signings no doubt wanted before the January transfer window slams shut on Thursday night.
However, Forest may have a different arrival coming in, with the Irish Independent noting that Roy Keane attended Saturday’s match ahead of an expected return to Forest.
O’Neill has admitted that he is expecting a decision from Keane soon, as he has been weighing up whether to reunite with O’Neill at the City Ground.
Keane served as O’Neill assistant with the Republic of Ireland national team, and rumours of a reunion at Forest were inevitable given Keane’s own ties to the club.

The 47-year-old made his name in three years as a Forest player, notching 32 goals in 154 games before leaving for Manchester United in 1993.
The Irishman would make perfect sense as an appointment now, working with O’Neill again and returning to his former club, and his presence at the Wigan game suggests a deal is moving closer.
