The Watford midfielder began his career at Crystal Palace.

Roy Hodgson wants Watford’s Ben Watson back at Crystal Palace, the Sun reports on page 58 of its printed edition on Friday.
Watson began his career at Palace, but left them for Wigan Athletic – for whom he scored the winning goal in the 2013 FA Cup final – nine years ago.

The midfielder moved to Watford in 2015, but according to the Sun he has been informed that he can leave Vicarage Road, having only made five appearances this season.
And it is claimed that Watson, whose Hornets contract runs until the end of the campaign, would love a return to his native south London.

Though Crystal Palace are not short of central midfield options, several of those – Yohan Cabaye, James McArthur and Ruben Loftus-Cheek – could depart Selhurst Park next year, with their deals due to expire.
Hodgson has hoisted Palace from the bottom of the Premier League table to 16th place since taking over three months ago, but is still to make his first Eagles signing.
