Hodgson is said to hope Wan-Bissaka will be the next top talent to come through at Crystal Palace.
Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has taken a shine to Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to the Sun on Sunday [February 25th, page 65].
The report claims Hodgson was impressed with the 20-year-old right-back in a recent Under-23s outing and, as a result, has brought him into his first team plans.
It adds the former England boss hopes Wan-Bissaka will be the next top talent to come through at Palace, whose academy has in recent years produced Nathaniel Clyne [Liverpool] and Victor Moses [Chelsea], as well as their own Wilfried Zaha.
Crystal Palace are having to contend with a lengthy injury list ahead of Sunday’s visit of Tottenham Hotspur and it’s possible that Wan-Bissaka, who has no prior experience at senior level, could be involved at Selhurst Park, with Joel Ward among the absentees.
Two out, Wan in?
Palace could lose Ward and Timothy Fosu-Mensah at the end of their full-time and loan contracts in the summer – another incentive for Wan-Bissaka to impress in the coming months.
