Dexter Blackstock (C) scores the third goal for Nottingham Forest
Rotherham United have offered a contract to recently released Nottingham Forest striker Dexter Blackstock, according to The Star.
The report claims that the Millers have made Blackstock ‘a very good offer’ to come to the New York Stadium. The report continues that his arrival is a possibility, dependent on offers from rival clubs.
Rotherham failed to bring in the striking reinforcements they would have wanted this summer.
With the transfer window now shut, and no emergency loan window this season, Rotherham boss Alan Stubbs will need to look at free agents and this makes Blackstock an appealing option.
Dexter Blackstock celebrates after scoring the first goal for Nottingham Forest
Blackstock was released after agreeing to the mutual termination of his contract at the City Ground after the transfer window shut.
The Antigua and Barbuda international has not played for Forest this season and scored just four goals in 32 appearances for the club last season.
He has struggled with niggling injuries ever since a knee injury suffered against Cardiff City in November 2010.
But he is an experienced Championship striker and could prove a vital option for Rotherham in their fight for survival.
