A number of fans have taken to Twitter to give their thoughts on the transfer report linking Rotherham United defender Clark Robertson with Sheffield Wednesday and with Queens Park Rangers, according to Sky Sports Transfer Centre (22/07, 11:47).

The 25-year-old joined Paul Warne’s side last summer from League One outfit Blackpool and was a key player for the Millers last term, also scoring three goals in 28 Championship appearances, but could not save them from relegation to the third tier.

Robertson, who stands an imposing 6ft 2in tall, spoke to The Star earlier in the summer and said he had joined Rotherham “wanting to get into the Scotland squad and I thought I’d have to play Championship football to do that”.

Although he hinted at staying by expressing his hopes that he and his teammates could get back into the second tier in the coming season, he added that “hopefuly people out there have recognised my performances and in the near future I get a chance to show what I can do.”

Here is what some fans on social media made of the speculation:

Robertson started his career in his native Scotland with Aberdeen and rose up through their youth ranks, going on to make his senior debut in May 2010 against Hamilton Academical in the league.

The former Scotland Under-21 international went onto make 68 appearances for the Dons before moving south of the border to join Blackpool in 2015, and was part of the Tangerines side that won the League Two playoffs in 2017.
