It is no secret that Rotherham have struggled badly so far this season. With just one league win in 11 games there is cause for worry at the New York Stadium, however manager Alan Stubbs is remaining as calm as possible given the situation.
As reported by The Star, the gaffer is offering the players a rare weekend off depending on how they train over the course of the next week.
The potential reward comes in the first week of the international break, with Stubbs having a number of training exercises lined up in order to try and improve his side’s fortunes.
“We will certainly look to keep working on the shape of the team, with and without the ball, and on set-pieces, defending and looking to be a bit more creative,” the manager said.

“We will maybe look to try to do something together as a group, a bit of team bonding, whatever that is. We’ll look at that as the week goes on.
“There’ll be a game for some of the players who have not been involved as much as they would have liked to have been recently. Then we’ll think about giving them the weekend off if they train well and we get what we want out of them this week.”

Some of the plans include a private match for players who have not been making the starting XI, as well as group activities in order to increase the team spirit among the Millers’ squad.
Fans of the South Yorkshire club will not care how they get back on track, just so long as they start seeing results. Their first test following the international break is a tough trip to Carrow Road to face Norwich City.
