Aston Villa’s Ross McCormack is reportedly keen to fight for his future at Villa Park.
According to the Daily Mail, Aston Villa forward Ross McCormack wants to fight for a place in Steve Bruce’s squad – but with the Villa boss wanting a new striker, his future is in question.
Villa suffered their first defeat under Bruce with a 2-0 loss at Leeds United on Saturday evening, bringing an end to their seven-game unbeaten run under the new manager.

Bruce will have been looking for January reinforcements whether they won or lost at Elland Road, and some players will be moving out of Villa Park in 2017 too.
One player not in the squad for Saturday’s trip to Leeds was striker Ross McCormack, who Villa signed from Fulham for a fee of £12m (BBC Sport).

With 42 goals in 100 games for Fulham, Scottish star McCormack was seen as a huge signing for Villa, but has so far struggled to make an impact at Villa Park, notching just two goals and one assist so far.
Last week, The Mirror reported that McCormack’s future was in doubt with Bruce left unconvinced by his performances so far, and the 30-year-old could end up leaving in January as a resullt.

Now, the Daily Mail claim that McCormack is determined to establish himself in Bruce’s squad and fight for his future at Villa Park, but has been given little hope by Bruce having been completely left out against Leeds.
The report adds that Bruce is keen to add another striker to his squad, and given that Jonathan Kodjia, Jordan Ayew and Rudy Gestede appear to be ahead of McCormack in the pecking order, the Scot could be on the chopping block next month.
