According to a report from Mundo Deportivo, Ronald Koeman’s Barcelona have rejected an offer from Everton and AC Milan for Emerson.
The Brazilian right-back is currently on loan at Real Betis and that deal doesn’t expire until next summer. However, his performances for the Verdiblancos last season has alerted a number of clubs.
Everton are one of the interested clubs having lost Djibril Sidibe at the end of his loan spell. The Toffees rejected a chance to sign the French international and they might have to replace him this summer even though they have Jonjoe Kenny back with them.
Multiple reports have suggested that the Toffees are open to offers for the right-back who enjoyed a fairly successful loan spell in Germany with Schalke last season.
If Kenny is sold, Everton will only have Seamus Coleman at right-back. Carlo Ancelotti will have to dive into the transfer market and if reports are to be believed, they have failed in their first attempt.
Barcelona have rejected Everton’s first offer for Emerson
The report claims Everton proposed a two-year loan deal with an obligation to sign Emerson for £18 million in the summer of 2022.

Italian giants AC Milan reportedly tabled an £18 million bid which was rejected. The Rossoneri returned with a £16.1 million offer plus Lucas Paqueta which was again rejected by the Catalans.
Barcelona, now managed by former Everton boss Koeman, are reportedly demanding a fee in the region of £27 million for Emerson who they are actively trying to sell this summer.
The transfer fee is the first stumbling block for Everton but it doesn’t stop there. The report also claims that Emerson prefers a move to a side that plays in a competition in Europe; another blow for the Toffees who could now miss out on him even if they increase their initial bid.
