It has been reported by the British tabloid that Everton manager Ronald Koeman wants to cash in on the 22-year-old defender this month.
The right-back’s current contract with the Premier League club runs out at the end of the season, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.
“Browning has been offered to several Championship clubs, who plan to watch him play for the Under-23s,” adds the report in The Sun.
Browning, who can also operate as a central defender, has been at Everton his entire professional club so far, but the youngster has yet to establish himself in the first team.
The former England Under-20 international, who had a loan spell at Wigan Athletic in 2014, has yet to make an appearance in the Premier League this season.
Given his lack of chances for the first team, it would make sense for Browning to leave Goodison Park in the January transfer window.
A move to the Championship may be a step down for the youngster in the short term, but in the long run that could prove to be a good decision.
