According to the Daily Mail, Anderlecht talent Romeo Lavia has snubbed Liverpool in favour of joining Manchester City.

It’s claimed that City are making a host of young signings as they look to bring in talents for the future this summer.

Barcelona defender Juan Larios is joining, with Brazilian right back Yan Couto also coming in from Brazilian side Coritiba.

Celtic youngster Josh Adam is following fellow Scot Liam Smith to the Etihad Stadium, whilst Bulgarian midfielder Filip Krastev, Peruvian defender Kluiverth Aguilar, Dutch goalkeeper Mikki van Sas and Spanish talent Pablo Moreno are joining too.

Another arrival comes in Anderlecht teenager Romeo Lavia. The 16-year-old was allegedly wanted by Liverpool and Manchester United, but he has snubbed both of them.

Instead, he has picked City, which could in some way have been influenced by Anderlecht and City legend Vincent Kompany.

Primarily a defensive midfielder, Lavia can also play at centre back. He will now look to become the latest success story from the Anderlecht academy after Kompany, Romelu Lukaku, Youri Tielemans, Leander Dendoncker and Dennis Praet in recent times.

Liverpool may be disappointed to lose out on Lavia, and seeing him join Premier League rivals City will sting, but only time will tell whether they’ve really missed out on a star.
