Xherdan Shaqiri has reportedly agreed personal terms with Ligue 1 side Lyon. However, Liverpool are yet to receive an appropriate fee for the winger.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Swiss international has ‘completed’ talks with the French club and personal terms have been reached. But, Liverpool want more than the €6m (£5m) fee the club are offering for Shaqiri.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are desperate to offload players this summer. Liverpool have one of the biggest squads in the Premier League.
So far, only Marko Grujic and Harry Wilson have left Anfield on permanent deals this window, with youngster Taiwo Awoniyi also departing.
With Georginio Wijnaldum leaving following the end of his contract, a new central midfielder is needed this summer for Liverpool. However, it is unlikely that the club will be able to bring a new one in with the squad and its current size.
Liverpool will likely go into the new season having the likes of Shaqiri and Origi unregistered from their Premier League squad.

But with under three weeks of the window left to conduct business, the Reds could manage to push both players out of the exit.
And with Shaqiri, who earns a reported £80,000-a-week, agreeing to personal terms with Lyon, striking a fee with the Ligue 1 giants could be reached quickly if Liverpool are eager enough to get the deal done.
