Obiang is struggling to break into West Ham’s side.

Pedro Obiang of West Ham United arrives at the stadium prior to the Premier League match between Burnley FC and West Ham United at Turf Moor on December 29, 2018 in Burnley, United Kingdom.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has claimed that West Ham United midfielder Pedro Obiang is interesting Serie A side AS Roma, and the Spanish midfielder is keen on a move.

The 26-year-old midfielder has been in and out of the West Ham side this season, with Manuel Pellegrini preferring the likes of captain Mark Noble and youngster Declan Rice. The club also boast Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez.

Obiang has managed just 13 Premier League appearances this season, and has failed to start a league game since November 24 when the Hammers were battered 4-0 by Manchester City.

The former Sampdoria midfielder has clocked up 103 appearances in all competitions for the Hammers, since joining the club from the Italian outfit in the summer of 2015.

Obiang has a contract at West Ham until the summer of 2022 worth £55,000 a week (Spotrac), but he is keen on a move to Roma and the Italian giants are said to be looking to land the midfielder on a loan-to-buy deal.

It remains to be seen if the Hammers want to keep Obiang, but with the player keen on returning to Italy with last season’s Champions League semi-finalists, it is likely a move will materialise.
