Tottenham Hotspur will be keeping an eye on Roma’s move for Gianluca Mancini.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Atalanta defender Gianluca Mancini is set for a medical with Roma ahead of his move to the Stadio Olimpico.
Mancini, 23, starred at Atalanta last season, sparking major interest in his signature as a result, and Roma have been pursuing him for a few weeks now.
The Italian centre back is set to sign a two-year loan deal for €2million (£1.8million) with a permanent option in the move worth €19million (£17million).
Mancini’s imminent move is a major boost for Roma, but may yet impact Tottenham Hotspur, and the futures of both Toby Alderweireld and Nicolo Zaniolo.
Di Marzio recently claimed that Roma were pressing ahead with a move for Alderweireld, ahead of a bid for Mancini – but having now signed the latter, that leaves Alderweireld in limbo.
Corriere Dello Sport reported earlier this month that Tottenham had offered cash plus Alderweireld for Roma playmaker Nicolo Zaniolo, hoping to use Roma’s interest in the defender to bring down the price for Zaniolo.

However, Mancini’s move may now throw that interest into major doubt, as whilst they had shelved a move for the Italian for the Tottenham star, he’s now on the verge of signing.
Roma may still find room for Alderweireld, but the situation has certainly just become a little more complicated, and time is running out for a club to activate Alderweireld’s release clause.
