AS Roma are reportedly weighing up a move to sign Arsenal and Leeds United target Florian Grillitsch after new arrival Georginio Wijnaldum broke his leg over the weekend in training.
According to Corriere della Sera, Jose Mourinho is scrambling to sign a new central midfielder following the horrific update to the Netherlands international over the past few days, with Wijnaldum fracturing his tibia during a training session on Sunday, meaning Roma could have to dip again into the market.
As per the report, Mourinho has already been on the phone to sporting director Tiago Pinto to discuss potential solutions in the transfer market, and free agent Grillitsch has come up as an idea, with the Austrian international also reportedly on Arsenal and Leeds’s radar following his release from Hoffenheim last season.
A 33-cap international, the 27-year-old midfielder has been a regular in the Bundesliga for the past seven years with the likes of Werder Bremen and Hoffenheim, with Grillitsch capable of playing numerous positions in the centre of the park as well as many roles, and it’s because of this why the Austrian is so sought after.
