The Italian giants have reportedly joined the race for a key Hammers target.
West Ham United’s move for Lyon star Clement Grenier could be in danger, as Italian outlet Blasting News report that Roma have entered the race for the France international.
French outlet Canal+ claimed last week that the Hammers are keen on a loan deal for the attacking midfielder in January as they look to bolster their squad and turn their season around.
The 25-year-old has been with Lyon for 14 years since joining the youth system as a boy, but has played just four times for the club this season as a result of injury having hampered his last two seasons.

That has led to speculation that he could be set for a move away from the club, although any deal is thought likely to be a temporary one for now.
West Ham had been cited as the frontrunners for his signature, but according to Blasting News, as cited by calciomercato, Roma are also chasing the star.
The Irons missed out on a number of high-profile attacking targets in the summer, particularly in their quest to add a top-class striker to their ranks, the failure of which has had dire consequences thus far this term.

If they really are genuinely interested in signing Grenier, they will be desperate not to let him slip through their fingers as Roma’s interest grows.
The Hammers are currently 17th in the Premier League table, just a point outside the relegation zone.
