Chelsea and Roma are reportedly keen on West Ham defender Angelo Ogbonna.

According to Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio, West Ham United defender Angelo Ogbonna is a target for Roma as well as London rivals Chelsea.
Ogbonna, 28, had long been highly rated in his native Italy during his time with Turin, but he was largely a backup for Juventus behind the likes of Giorgio Chiellini, Andrea Barzagli and Leonardo Bonucci.
The Italian international then decided to leave Turin for London last summer, as he penned a four-year deal with West Ham United – and according to The Guardian, that deal cost £10m.
Ogbonna has immediately become a key player for the Hammers, as he racked up 33 appearances in all competitions under Slaven Bilic, and he’s now one of the most important West Ham players.
However, Ogbonna’s performances may now trigger interest in his signature, as Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reports that Roma are keen to bring him back to Italy.
Roma saw star defender Antonio Rudiger go down with a serious knee injury whilst training with Germany, and it’s claimed that they are lining up a move for Ogbonna to replace him.
Meanwhile, the same report claims that London rivals Chelsea are also looking to land Ogbonna, as new manager Antonio Conte will be looking to strengthen his defence.
Conte signed Ogbonna at Juventus and worked closely with him, meaning a reunion could be somewhat appealing – but having impressed so much in his first season, West Ham may not be so keen to sell Ogbonna, and any deal would cost considerably more than the £10m paid last summer.
