With Mikael Lustig being used at centre back during pre-season and Saidy Janko struggling at times this term, manager Brendan Rodgers appears to be keen on signing a new right back – and appears to be closing in on one.
The Daily Record report that West Bromwich Albion outcast Cristian Gamboa is in Glasgow today, and will complete a medical with Celtic ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline.

Gamboa, 26, joined the Baggies two years ago having impressed for Costa Rica during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, but his time in England has been miserable to say the least.
The diminutive right back, who possesses great pace and attacking ability, hasn’t managed to carve out a role under manager Tony Pulis, and played in just one Premier League game last season.

Now, Gamboa – who spent much of his career in Scandinavia with Fredrikstad, Copenhagen and Rosenborg – is set to leave West Brom for Celtic, with his medical scheduled today.
It’s claimed that Gamboa is valued in the £1m range, meaning he is well inside Celtic’s budget, and should complete his move to Celtic Park ahead of Wednesday’s deadline.
