Manchester City starlet Daniel Arzani is heading to Holland after a loan spell at Celtic was ruined by injury, according to the World Game.
Two years ago, this fleet-footed winger was the talk of Glasgow.
Celtic looked to have pulled off one of the most inspired signings of 2018 when they signed Arzani, the youngest player to feature at the Russian World Cup, on a two-year loan deal from Premier League giants Man City.
But any hopes he had of emulating the title-winning success of Patrick Roberts north of the border went up in smoke just weeks into his Parkhead career.
A cruciate ligament injury meant Arzani spent most of his two year spell at Celtic on the sidelines, with his only action in 2019/20 a five-minute cameo against Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup.
And, according to the World Game, arguably the most talented Australian footballer since the Harry Kewell, Mark Viduka generation is now heading to Holland as he looks to rebuild his reputation on European soil.
The reports claims that a move to an as-yet unnamed Eredivisie club is on the verge of being completed.
And, as fans of Dutch football will tell you, the Netherlands could be the ideal destination for Arzani to strut his stuff once more.
After all, Eredivisie teams are not exactly famed for their watertight backlines.
In stark contrast to the rugged hustle and bustle of the Scottish game, with it’s mudbath pitches and battle-scarred full-backs, Dutch football is pretty much tailor-made for skilful, speedy forwards like Arzani to realise their potential.
