According to Ghana Sports Online, Celtic are interested in landing Astana’s Ghanaian forward Patrick Twumasi, with Bursaspor also keen.

The Bhoys have two top strikers in their ranks already, as Moussa Dembele and Leigh Griffiths are both at Brendan Rodgers’ disposal, and have been scoring regularly this season.

Over the summer, Rodgers wanted to bring in another forward who could play both out wide and up front, with Paris Saint-Germain youngster Odsonne Edouard joining on loan back on deadline day in August.

Edouard has yet to really make an impact with Celtic, and the Bhoys may consider pursuing other forwards rather than set up a permanent deal for Edouard at the end of the season.

Ghana Sports Online report that Celtic are interested in landing Astana forward Patrick Twumasi, who fits the bill for Rodgers as a speedy forward who can play wide or up front.

Twumasi, 23, had two superb loan spells with Astana before penning a permanent deal in 2015, and he has smashed 43 goals in 122 games for the Kazakhstani outfit since that move.

The Ghanaian even scored twice against Celtic in a Champions League play-off clash back in August, and it seems that he has made a lasting impression on manager Rodgers.

It’s claimed that Celtic could look to make an offer for Twumasi in January, which may well mean that Edouard’s Bhoys days are numbered after struggling to make an impression in Scotland.
