Celtic are reportedly keen on Arsenal youngster Chris Willock.
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates
According to The Mirror, Celtic are interested in signing Arsenal winger Chris Willock this summer as they look to replace loanee Patrick Roberts.
Roberts is coming to the end of an 18-month loan stay at Celtic Park, and he will return to Manchester City this summer, leaving Brendan Rodgers to consider his options out wide.
He does have Scott Sinclair and James Forrest at his disposal, as well as Gary Mackay-Steven, but another winger should be targeted by the Bhoys once Roberts leaves, unless they can extend his deal.
Now, The Mirror report that Celtic are hoping to land Arsenal teenager Chris Willock at the end of the season, with a view to him coming in to take Roberts’ place.
Willock, 19, has been on the books with Arsenal since joining the club at the age of just five, and he has been tipped for a huge future at the Emirates Stadium for some time now.
Primarily a winger with great pace, Willock has racked up 35 caps for England at various youth levels, but has played just 25 minutes of first-team action this season, making two substitute appearances in the EFL Cup.

Willock will surely want to start playing first-team football, and it’s claimed that Celtic manager Rodgers is now hoping to convince Willock into making a summer move to Glasgow with the lure of playing regularly.
A loan deal is surely more likely than a permanent one, and bringing in for next season would ease the blow of losing Roberts, should he make his expected return to the Etihad Stadium this summer.
