Celtic are reportedly pursuing loan deals for Jason Denayer and Odsonne Edouard.

Celtic Manager Brendan Rodgers celebrates during the William Hill Scottish Cup Final between Celtic and Aberdeen at Hampden Park on May 27, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

According to the back page of today’s Scottish Daily Mail, Celtic are hoping to tie up loan deals for Manchester City defender Jason Denayer and Paris Saint-Germain forward Odsonne Edouard before the transfer deadline.

The Bhoys may have gone through last season undefeated in domestic action, but manager Brendan Rodgers has still been active in the transfer market over the course of the summer.

Kundai Benyu, Olivier Ntcham and Jonny Hayes arrived earlier this summer, whilst Celtic have also tied up the loan signing of Manchester City’s Patrick Roberts this week, having impressed on loan at Celtic Park last season.

However, Roberts may not be the only City youngster heading back to Celtic on loan, as the back page of today’s Scottish Daily Mail claims that the Bhoys are hoping to re-sign defender Jason Denayer.

Denayer, 22, spent the 2014-15 season on loan with Celtic, starring alongside Virgil van Dijk with six goals in 44 games, but subsequent loan moves to Galatasaray and Sunderland didn’t bring much success for the Belgian.

Now, with Denayer down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium, Celtic – who saw a deal for defender Rivaldo Coetzee collapse over the weekend due to a failed medical – are allegedly hoping to bring Denayer back to Glasgow and give him the first-team football he craves.

The report also notes that Celtic are keen on another loan deal, with Paris Saint-Germain talent Odsonne Edouard understood to be a top attacking target for Rodgers, who travelled to France last week to try and trash out a deal.

Edouard, 19, has been on the books with PSG since 2011, and spent time out on loan with Toulouse last season, scoring one goal in 17 appearances before returning to the Parc des Princes.

A versatile forward who can play out wide or up front, Edouard has pace, power and dribbling ability, giving Rodgers a superb attacking talent if he does indeed sign for Celtic before Thursday’s deadline.
