Aston Villa and Newcastle United have both been linked with Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford.

According to the Daily Mirror, Aston Villa could make a move for Chelsea front man Patrick Bamford in the near future.
Roberto Di Matteo reportedly has £40 million to spend, after being appointed as Villa manager, and he wants to sign a striker.
The Claret and Blues are likely to lose Jordan Ayew and Gabriel Agbonlahor this summer, while many of their other forward options failed to convince last season.

As a result, signing a new striker has become one of Di Matteo’s priorities at Villa Park and Bamford is believed to be on his wishlist.
The England youth international has previously been a prolific scorer at Championship level, while on loan at Middlesbrough and Derby County, and Villa are hopeful that he could recreate that form for them.
Bamford struggled in the Premier League last term, and he failed to score for either Crystal Palace or Norwich City, who he spent time on loan at.

Chelsea are believed to still have high hopes for Bamford’s future, but Di Matteo feels he has the contacts to make a move happen in the near future.
Newcastle United have also been linked with a move for Bamford in recent times.
