Arsenal want Rob Holding to stay amid interest from other clubs in the Premier League, according to The Telegraph.
It has been reported that Holding is close to agreeing a new long-term contract at Arsenal.
The report has added that other clubs in the Premier League would have wanted to sign the 25-year-old central defender on a loan deal in the January transfer window, but the England international is unlikely to leave this month.
Important player for Arsenal
Holding has established himself as an important player for Arsenal under manager Mikel Arteta and is playing relatively well at the moment.
According to WhoScored, the Englishman has made 12 starts and one substitute appearance in the league for the Gunners so far this season.
The 25-year-old – who earns £25,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac – has taken his chances this season, and is showing what he can do when he is given a run of games.
For Arsenal to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season, Holding will have to be on top of his game throughout.
