Newcastle United goalkeeper Rob Elliot has slipped down to fourth choice at St. James’ Park.

Elliot needs to leave Newcastle this summer if he wants to play, as Rafael Benitez has reportedly written off the goalkeeper’s chances of featuring again at St. James’ Park.
Elliot has been demoted to fourth choice goalkeeper at Newcastle, with Martin Dubravka, Karl Darlow and Freddie Woodman all preferred by Benitez.
Elliot now is said to have no future at Newcastle if Benitez does pen a new deal.

Benitez made Elliot, who is on a £25,000-a-week contract (Spotrac), train with the under-23’s last term, as he only wanted players with potential to play in Newcastle’s first-team training.
Elliot’s hopes may not be over though, as Benitez has still not committed his future to Newcastle.
The Spanish boss has just weeks remaining on his current deal at St. James’ Park, and he has still not reached an agreement with Mike Ashley.
