Liverpool could see one of their summer targets join Manchester United, according to The Independent.
It is claimed that United are ‘looking at’ the Watford winger Ismaila Sarr, in whom Liverpool are also interested, as they ‘investigate options beyond Jadon Sancho’.
It is also said that the Red Devils’ intermediaries are ‘understood to have made initial enquiries’ over Sarr, for whom Watford are likely to want at least £30 million to part with.
And that is a figure which could leave Sarr out of Liverpool’s reach – at least for the time being – with the Reds’ budget already ‘constrained’ ahead of the expected signing of Thiago Alcantara from Bayern Munich, according to The Independent.
Liverpool, though, could yet raise funds through the sales of fringe players such as Rhian Brewster and Divock Origi, as well as Gini Wijnaldum, the midfielder most likely to lose his place when Thiago arrives.

All three players are reported to have had interest in the summer transfer window, with Wijnaldum claimed to be a target for Barcelona.
It is said that while Sancho remains the number one target for Manchester United, the Red Devils are ‘willing to walk away’ from their pursuit of the Borussia Dortmund winger.
