Juventus reportedly scouted rumoured Tottenham target Kim Min-jae before making a move to sign Gleison Bremer, a player Fabio Paratici is a big fan of and was looking to bring to north London this summer.
According to CalcioMercato, Juventus considered moving for the South Korean international in preparation for replacing Matthijs de Ligt, who is expected to complete a move to Bayern Munich this week. However, the Serie A giants passed up on Kim with the club now set to sign Bremer from city rivals Torino.
The Brazilian defender is one of the most hotly-sought after players in the European transfer market this summer, and despite rumours of a move to Tottenham and very strong links to Inter Milan, Juventus now look to have swooped in and signed Bremer, with Fabrizio Romano revealing on Twitter that a €40m (£34m) fee has been agreed.
With Kim having a reported valuation of £20m, the rumoured Tottenham target could have been a cheaper alternative to Bremer, but, with Juventus now stumbling onto a cash cow in De Ligt, signing the reigning Serie A Defender of the Year makes a tonne of sense.
Indeed, with Bremer looking likely to join Inter for most of the summer, Juventus have also seemingly hindered their rivals in beating the Nerrazzuri to the 25-year-old defender, with Tottenham also likely to be reeling from missing out on the South American titan.
Whilst Antonio Conte’s side have added a defensive reinforcement this summer in Clemeny Legnlet, most fans and pundits would agree that Bremer would have been the more exciting signing, yet like many sagas in Italy, Juventus look to be the side that will win the race to the talented centre-back.
Juventus signing Bremer makes more sense than Tottenham target Kim

Juventus have free reign to sign any centre-back they want this summer with De Ligt set to sign for Bayern for a huge transfer fee, and whilst Kim would have been a solid replacement, Bremer is arguably the best option the Old Lady could have chosen in the transfer market.
After all, Bremer is coming off a monstrous season with Torino, and the Brazilian’s talents would be appreciated at Juventus given that they now require a left-sided centre-back to replace De Ligt, much to the dismay of Tottenham, with Paratici seemingly keen to land the Serie A star this summer.
