Midlands rivals Aston Villa and Birmingham City are interested in taking Bournemouth winger Max Gradel on loan this month, according to the Sun.
The pair have been linked with moves for Swansea City wide men Modou Barrow (Villa) and Wayne Routledge (Blues) this month, but the Welsh side are said to want a permanent deal for the former, while the latter agreed a new contract on Thursday.
It is perhaps little surprise, therefore, that both clubs’ names are now being associated with alternative options, such as Gradel.

The Ivorian, who appeared alongside Villa striker Jonathan Kodjia at the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament, has played just 90 minutes of Premier League football for Bournemouth this term and is reportedly keen to leave.
However, according to the Sun, Gradel has his heart set on remaining in the top flight, with Watford reportedly having a permanent offer rejected.
Both Villa and Birmingham have experienced busy windows so far, with Steve Bruce’s men acquiring five new faces – the same amount as Gianfranco Zola’s Blues.
Would Gradel be a good signing for Aston Villa/Birmingham City?
