Everton are reportedly closing in on Watford forward Richarlison.
According to the Daily Mail, Watford attacker Richarlison is set to undergo medical with Everton on Monday ahead of completing his quickfire move to Goodison Park.
Everton have yet to make a new signing this summer but now appear to be closing in on a first addition of the Marcel Brands and Marco Silva era after rapid talks.
The Toffees have been searching for a left winger to play opposite from Theo Walcott, and talks in recent days with Watford have accelerated to the point where a deal for Richarlison is imminent.
The Daily Mail now report that Richarlison will undergo a medical with Everton on Monday, ahead of completing a move to Goodison Park worth around £44million.
That’s a staggering profit for Watford, who paid just £11.5million to sign the 21-year-old Brazilian from Fluminense last summer, and the move will also see him reunite with manager Silva.
Silva was Richarlison’s first manager in English football at Watford last summer, and the winger starred with five goals and four assists in his first 17 Premier League outings before his form fell off a cliff when Silva was sacked in January.
A reunion between the pair isn’t a huge surprise, though Watford agreeing to sell to Everton is a little shock given the frayed relations between the two sides, and it’s thought that Everton’s huge fee involves a payment to call a truce over Silva.
Richarlison will now be hoping to get back on track under Silva again, and if the deal comes to £44million, he will be Everton’s second-biggest signing of all time behind Gylfi Sigurdsson.
