According to the Daily Record, Tottenham Hotspur’s tactical analyst Ricardo Formosinho has asked to leave the club this summer.

It’s claimed that Jose Mourinho has been trying to prepare for next season, but his plans have been complicated by Formosinho’s decision.

Formosinho has allegedly asked to be released from his Tottenham deal, which would leave Mourinho without a tactical analysis for the new season.

The news will have surely been a shock to Mourinho. Formosinho worked with him at Porto and Manchester United, before then following him to Tottenham.

The 63-year-old has only been at Spurs since November, but has now seemingly decided that he needs to leave the North London club.

No reason is given for his exit, and it would be very unfair to suggest anything like Formosinho departing due to a breakdown in his relationship with Mourinho – but some may suggest that in order to ramp pressure on the Tottenham boss.

For now, it just seems that the Portuguese coach wants to move on to something new, leaving Mourinho with a position to fill.
