According to El Confidencial, Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane was not a fan of Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilón due to a disagreement the left-back had with his son, Luca Zidane.
El Confidencial’s report reveals that the Spain international and Zidane Jr had an argument in Real Madrid’s ‘Castilla’ B team.
Reguilón was then immediately loaned out to Logroñés, where he spent both the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons.
Of course, the 23-year-old was then allowed to leave permanently back in the summer, where he teamed up with ex-Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho at Tottenham in a deal worth £27 million.
The severity of the disagreement is not disclosed, although presumably, it must’ve been a big argument if it meant Reguilón had to leave the club.

Otherwise, it seems silly that Zidane would allow one of Europe’s most promising young left-backs to leave the Santiago Bernabeu, simply because he and his son were not getting along.
If that is the real reason – which El Confidencial states it is – then the Madrid-born defender’s early days at Tottenham might have Zidane kicking himself.

Reguilón has already racked up three assists in seven appearances for the north London-based club, impressing with his dynamic displays down the left flank.
Mourinho will presumably be delighted at Zidane Jr and Reguilón’s disagreement, as it’s seen him land an excellent left-back.
