According to Ouest-France, Rennes have secured an agreement with Anderlecht for the signing of Jeremy Doku.

It’s claimed that Rennes are paying €26million (£23.5million) for Doku, in what looks to be an absolutely massive coup for the French side.

Het Nieuwsblad in Belgium reported last month that Liverpool wanted to sign Doku, with the idea of loaning him back to Anderlecht.

However, the Reds are missing out on the 18-year-old wonderkid, who has hit two goals and four assists in seven games this season having racked up eight goals and three assists last season.

So whilst Liverpool are missing out on Doku, could this news boost Leeds United’s hopes of raiding Rennes for Brazilian winger Raphinha?

The report states that Leeds have now had a bid of €17million (£15.4million) and €6million (£5.4million) in add-ons for Raphinha, and the bid has now been accepted.

Raphinha allegedly has a meeting on Monday to sort out a work permit to play in England, and has ‘every chance’ of obtaining one because of the transfer fee involved.

Speedy wide man Raphinha, 23, joined Rennes from Sporting last year, and hit nine goals and five assists whilst he has already picked up two assists in five games this term.

Doku seems to be heading to France in a move that frees up Raphinha to join Leeds, with the Brazilian being pushed towards Elland Road.
