The former Aston Villa man has rejected two jobs with the French Football Federation.
Former Aston Villa manager Remi Garde
French manager Remi Garde did not have a good time at Aston Villa. The Frenchman had taken over from Tim Sherwood at Villa Park in November last season, with the hope he could turn around the fortunes of the fallen giants.
He struggled in the Midlands and he left in March last year, with Villa still rock bottom of the Premier League. Aston Villa fans would suggest that Garde, with a record of two wins six draws and 12 defeats in his 18 Premier League games in charge, will go down as one of their worst performing managers.
Now he has been in the news in France. He has rejected a lucrative role in the French national team set-up, as reported by Le Figaro. They report he still has his eyes on a return to club management, with Lucien Favre’s position at Nice under considerable scrutiny.
It is in fact the second time he has rejected this role. It was reported by Foot01 that Garde rejected the role of National Technical Director for the senior French national team for the first time.

Garde would have been in charge of being a major liaison between club and country regarding their players being called up by Les Bleus coach Didier Deschamps but it seems he is still looking for work after his Villa disaster.
