Everton are seemingly closing in on Brazilian talent Reinier.

According to Globo Esporte in Brazil, Everton have ramped up their talks to sign Flamengo wonderkid Reinier in a deal worth €35million (£32million) – and his family expect a move to be done soon.

The Toffees are all set to land one big-money teenager in Moise Kean, but Marcel Brands isn’t done yet, with Reinier now wanted alongside him.

Everton have been linked with the 17-year-old for a few weeks now, but it’s claimed that talks have now become more serious, and a deal should be struck in August.

It’s even claimed that Reinier’s family have told close friends that a deal will be done soon, and whilst they stopped short of claiming it’s Everton he’ll be signing for, the Toffees are the team closing in.

Any deal will see Reinier stay with Flamengo until January, when he turns 18 and can leave Brazil, but heading straight into the Everton first team seems unlikely.

The £32million fee is similar to what Flamengo received for playmaker Lucas Paqueta when he moved to AC Milan in January, despite the fact that Reinier hasn’t even played a first-team game for Flamengo yet.

Manchester City and Liverpool recently joined the race according to the Daily Mail, but Everton have now ramped up their efforts and are closing in on the teenager, possibly viewing the playmaker as the heir to Gylfi Sigurdsson.

With Reinier and Kean, Everton could have an exciting future in attack, especially as Reinier has five goals in nine caps for Brazil’s Under17’s, and Brands would deserve huge credit for getting both over the line.
