According to a report from the Evening Standard, West Ham will offer Declan Rice a new and improved contract in order to ward off potential suitors.

The 19-year-old is reportedly on just £1,000 per week, so he will surely be in line for a fairly substantial rise on his current deal with the Hammers.

Rice has really impressed for David Moyes’ side this season, although he did show his lack of experience during West Ham’s last game away at Arsenal, when he was at fault for the Gunners’ second goal.

The Irishman is a real talent, though, and the Hammers fans have really taken to him this season.

The Evening Standard claim that the West Ham hierarchy are huge fans of Rice, and are prepared to offer him new and improved terms on his current deal with the club.
