As per a report by Estadio Deportivo, Real Sociedad are keeping an out for whether Atletico Madrid will cut short Tottenham’s Sergio Reguilon’s ongoing loan deal.

While it seemed as if the Spaniard would redeem himself at Diego Simeone’s side, a niggling groin injury has meant he has been unable to showcase his class this season.

To the extent where the Spurs loanee has played a mere 21 minutes of football in all competitions this term.

The former Real Madrid left-back’s loan was sanctioned in the summer, with Antonio Conte’s men being content with the presences of Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon.

While the 25-year-old’s redemption arc is yet to kick into gear, it could well if Atleti decide to part ways with him.

Real Sociedad are interested in taking Reguilon on loan

As mentioned earlier, Estadio Deportivo have reported that Real Sociedad are eyeing a loan switch for Sergio Reguilon, if Atletico Madrid decide to cut short the defender’s ill-fated move.

It is stated that Sociedad are willing to not just sign him on a temporary basis but also pay his wages for the remainder of the season.

Tottenham are believed to be accepting of this situation, as they do not want the £32 million man (Sky Sports) to return to the club under any possible circumstances.

Spurs need to reinvest in the left wing-back department to ensure a Reguilon return never seems tempting

At this point, even the club is aware that plenty of evidence suggests that Sergio Reguilon has flattered to deceive in a Tottenham shirt.

However, with the struggles of both Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon, it would not come as a surprise if those within the club at least ponder whether the Spanish defender should be recalled at some point.

Instead, Spurs must bolster this much-needed department of the squad to keep elevating under Conte, rather than taking two steps back like revisiting Reguilon in the future.
