Eden Hazard’s time at Real Madrid has not worked out. The Belgian has scored just five goals in 59 games – and CalcioMercato report the bargain fee Madrid will sell him for, with Newcastle, Everton and West Ham linked.

Hazard, now 31, has struggled with injury since his move from Chelsea in the summer of 2019. There has been the odd glimpse of quality, but he is well off his best. An unused sub in four of Madrid’s last seven league games.

In November, Spanish outlet SPORT claimed Newcastle were exploring the possibility of luring Hazard to Tyneside. More recently, The Sunday Mirror (05/12, p70) say West Ham and Everton are also eyeing a move.

Now, all three Premier League clubs and any others looking to sign Hazard in the next fortnight have been told how much the pocket-sized winger will cost. Madrid want just £16.5million, but he is earning £240,000 a week.

Hazard price tag: Newcastle, Everton or West Ham?

It would be an incredible move. A transfer that is remembered for years. But realistically, Hazard is hardly going to want to move. He is earning a huge wage, playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world.

Just look at Gareth Bale. The ex-Tottenham star has remained at Madrid, and will leave in the summer when his contract expires. It is a nice place to be, on such big wages, even if you are not playing regularly, or at your best.

A loan move might have a chance if Madrid chip in, in regards to his wages. But the chance of a permanent Hazard exit in the next two weeks seems incredibly unlikely – even despite his bargain £16.5million price tag.
