According to the Daily Star, Real Madrid think that Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen could be tempted to join them in January.

Madrid are set to talk to Eriksen’s agent in the coming days, with the Spurs midfielder back on their radar.

Zinedine Zidane’s side haven’t looked at their best this season, even though they currently top the La Liga table.

And Madrid are now reportedly set to turn their attentions back to Eriksen, whose future at Spurs is very uncertain.

It was widely expected that the playmaker would leave Hotspur Way last summer, but Madrid refused to pay Tottenham’s asking price on that occasion and he has stuck around.

Eriksen’s attitude has been criticised by Spurs fans this term, with his performances highly inconsistent.

Although Eriksen has shown glimpses of his quality, there have been other times when he has looked disinterested.

Mauricio Pochettino has often left Eriksen on the bench, and it is thought that Tottenham could be open to selling at the next opportunity, as it will be the last time that they can get money for the midfielder.

Eriksen has just months remaining on his contract and will be able to move on a free transfer at the end of the season.

It now could be best for all parties that Eriksen moves on, and Madrid apparently believe that a deal could be possible.
