Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with Donny van de Beek in recent times.

According to The Mirror, Real Madrid are now in pole position to land Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek, with Manchester United seemingly out of the race.
Van de Beek, 22, is yet another product of the famous Ajax academy, and he really made a name for himself last season as Ajax won the Eredivisie title and reached the Champions League semi-final.
The Dutchman enjoyed a remarkable season last term with 17 goals and 13 assists, and he’s already notched three goals and six assists in 11 games this term.
As one of the top young midfielders in Europe, Van de Beek is unsurprisingly attracting major interest – and Real Madrid appear to be the favourites to land him.
It’s claimed that Ajax want £100million for Van de Beek, and that isn’t scaring them off as they look to spend big on successors to Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.
The report notes that United were quoted £35million over the summer, but felt that was too much, so they almost certainly won’t be paying £100million for him.

Intriguingly, Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan told talkSPORT over the summer that Van de Beek wanted to join United or Tottenham Hotspur, pursuing a Premier League move.
Tottenham didn’t pay up for Van de Beek either, and with Spurs unlikely to pay £100million either, it seems that Real don’t need to worry about either side coming in with a move for the midfielder in 2020.
