Liverpool face fresh competition from Real Madrid for Nabil Fekir.

Liverpool’s ongoing pursuit of Nabil Fekir is set to become more complicated by Real Madrid.
El Confidencial report Fekir is on a three man shortlist to replace Mateo Kovacic.
The Spanish news outlet report Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring Kovacic to Spurs this summer, with Juventus also credited with interest.

As well as Fekir, European Champions Real Madrid are also eyeing up Juan Quintero and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
Liverpool came close to signing Fekir before the World Cup, but they were unable to agree terms with Lyon.
Fekir’s agent told ESPN last week that the move could yet be revived.

Real Madrid’s desire to sign Fekir would be damaging for Liverpool’s hopes, and it will enable Lyon to drive their asking price up even higher.
It will not be an issue if Real cannot find a buyer for Kovacic quickly, and if Tottenham do make their move for the Croatian, it could end up destablising Liverpool’s transfer plans.
