Real Madrid’s Kiko Casilla has reportedly been offered to Newcastle United.

According to the Daily Mail, Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has been offered to Newcastle United ahead of the January transfer window.
The Magpies have lost five of their last six Premier League games, and manager Rafael Benitez desperately needs additions in next month’s transfer window to prevent a relegation battle.
One position Benitez may look to strengthen is in goal, as Matz Sels has been loaned out to Anderlecht, whilst the Spaniard hasn’t really been able to decide between Rob Elliot and Karl Darlow in 2017.

With that in mind, the Daily Mail report that Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has been offered to the Magpies ahead of the January transfer window.
It’s claimed that Real are hoping to push through a deal for Athletic Bilbao goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in January, and that deal means that Casilla will be allowed to leave either on loan or for free.
Casilla, 31, made his name with Espanyol before making a 2015 move to Real, where he was signed by now-Newcastle boss Benitez, and a reunion could be on the cards.

Bringing in an experienced stopper on a free transfer would be ideal for Benitez given his need for a goalkeeper and his limited transfer budget, and having already worked with Casilla, he fits the bill perfectly.
It remains to be seen whether Newcastle push through with a deal for Casilla, but reuniting with his fellow Spaniard could be appealing for Benitez.
