The 53-year-old was sacked by Birmingham City at the start of this month.

Steve Cotterill is one of three managers being considered by Reading, less than three weeks after he was sacked by the Royals’ relegation rivals, Birmingham City – according to Sky Sports.
The report lists Cotterill as a contender for the role – which was vacated by Jaap Stam on Wednesday – along with former Swansea City and Derby County boss, Paul Clement, and former Ajax boss, Marcel Keizer.

However, the broadcaster adds that Clement’s cause could be helped by the fact that Reading chief executive Ron Gourlay is ‘a fan’ of the 46-year-old, with whom he worked at Chelsea.
Out of the pan, into the fire?
Cotterill lasted little more than five months as Birmingham manager, and only won a quarter of his 24 Championship games in charge.
Birmingham have since appointed Garry Monk as the 53-year-old’s successor, and although the Blues remain in the bottom three, they are only three points adrift of 20th-placed Reading.

Clement is already 1/10 to be Reading’s next manager with Sky Bet, with Cotterill nowhere to be seen.
