The Celtic defender is not in the plans of Brendan Rodgers.
Cetic’s Efe Ambrose lies injured
Reports this morning are suggesting that Reading could be interested in bringing Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose from Celtic.
The Express is reporting that Reading manager Jaap Stam is interested in signing the player, whilst Blackburn Rovers could make a move if Shane Duffy departs the club as expected in the coming week.
Blackburn’s Shane Duffy
Stam’s interest in signing Ambrose will, unfortunately for the player, be music to the ears of the Celtic fans – who have been hoping to see the back of Ambrose for some time now.
After a promising start to his time at Parkhead, following a move from Israeli side Ashdod, the Nigerian, who has 51-caps for the Super Eagles, has become a much-maligned figure at Celtic after a string of poor performances and high-profile mistakes in key fixtures.

He is now longer considered by Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers and a move south of the border looks increasingly likely.
Brendan Rodgers celebrates
Both Reading and Blackburn are currently looking at a season of struggle in the Championship and the hope will be that Ambrose, who can play at centre-back or right-back, will help them rise up the table in the coming weeks.
The majority of Celtic fans will be happy to see him go.
