According to Sky Germany and Buli News, RB Leipzig have opened talks with Sparta Prague in an attempt to beat Arsenal to attacker Adam Hlozek.

It’s claimed that Leipzig are now pressing ahead with attempts to sign a new striker, having agreed to sell star forward Timo Werner to Chelsea this summer.

A host of names have been linked with the club, but it now seems that they want Czech teenager Hlozek to come in and replace the German star.

Leipzig have opened talks over a deal to sign Hlozek. However, Chelsea are also interested despite signing Werner themselves, with Bayern Munich and Arsenal also interested.

The 17-year-old has shown his quality with Sparta this season, bagging six goals and nine assists. He can play anywhere across the frontline, and has huge potential given that he isn’t even 18 yet.

Hlozek’s potential has clearly been spotted, and he would be a similar addition to Gabriel Martinelli at Arsenal, in terms of his versatility and his potential to become a star.

Arsenal’s budget may put them at a disadvantage. The global pandemic has hit their spending power, whereas Leipzig have the Werner to reinvest.

With the German side now in talks, Arsenal are lagging behind and need to move quickly – and it’s all stemmed from Chelsea’s deal for Werner.
