According to the Daily Mail, RB Leipzig are now discussing a deal for Liverpool loanee Ozan Kabak – the latest indication yet that Ibrahima Konate is off to Anfield.
It’s suggested that Liverpool are unlikely to take up the £18million permanent option in Kabak’s loan deal from Schalke.
That’s because they want to sign Konate from Leipzig instead, with a £40million move being lined up for this summer’s transfer window.
Leipzig have already lost Dayot Upamecano to Bayern Munich and replaced him with fellow Frenchman Mohamed Simakan, so they may now look to find a replacement for Konate.
Well, it turns out that they now want Kabak in a strange twist of fate, attempting to sign the man that will be replaced by Konate at Liverpool.
Kabak had a shaky start at Liverpool but settled down well, playing a key role for Jurgen Klop since his deadline day move from Schalke.

Kabak has allegedly not been told of Liverpool’s decision to not sign him this summer, but Konate’s arrival will effectively push the Turkish ace out of the Anfield door.
Leipzig will now hope that Kabak turns out to be the better centre back, and he will certainly come cheaper than Konate with Schalke now relegated from the Bundesliga.
