The Stoke City midfielder has struggled to establish himself in the Potteries.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet AS, La Liga side Rayo Vallecano are seriously considering a move for Stoke City midfielder Giannelli Imbula, with the transfer window for the rest of Europe not set to close until Friday.
The 25-year-old joined the Potters from Porto in January 2016, for a then club record fee of £18.3 million, but he has desperately failed to establish himself at the BET 365 Stadium, making just 25 starts in all competitions.
Stoke boss Gary Rowett obviously doesn’t fancy Imbula, having failed to select him in any of the Potters’ matches so far this season, so he will most likely be open to sanctioning the midfielder’s exit.

AS claims that Rayo Vallecano are keen on signing the Stoke flop, and are thought to be plotting a bid for the midfielder before Friday’s deadline.
Much will surely depend on whether Rowett can utilise the loan market to bring in a replacement for the former France under-21 international, however.
