According to Portuguese outlet Record, Benfica hitman Raul Jimenez is “quite attracted” to the prospect of playing in the Premier League.

The 26-year-old, who according to the same outlet has a £45.8 million release clause, has reportedly courted interest from Everton and West Ham United this summer.

Record reported this week that Everton had joined the race for the Mexico international, whom O Jogo claimed last month was close to joining West Ham.

Obviously he has joined neither Premier League club but a report from Record this morning suggests that the Toffees and West Ham should be enthused, after claiming that Jimenez is open to leaving Benfica in favour of a switch to England’s top flight.

Everton have spent close to £150 million on players this summer and it remains to be seen whether manager Ronald Koeman has much more to spend.
