According to the Daily Record, Rangers are yet to make contact with Livingston about a deal for striker Lyndon Dykes – and Cardiff City could now swoop in.
Dykes has been linked with Rangers for months now. The Scottish Sun even noted recently that he is a top target for Steven Gerrard this summer as the Gers pursue a new striker.
Rangers will likely let Florian Kamberi move on this summer, whilst there are lingering question marks over the future of Alfredo Morelos.
Dykes has emerged as a potential addition, having starred for Livingston this past season. With 12 goals and 10 assists, the Australian was huge productive in the final third.
However, Rangers not making their move means other clubs could hijack their interest – and Cardiff are thought to be major contenders for his signature.
The Bluebirds have allegedly ‘shown the most interest’ in Dykes. They think he could be ideal for the Championship, and he could be ideal for Neil Harris.

Dykes is big and strong, but possesses a turn of pace. He’s incredibly aggressive, whilst his relentless hard work has posed a problem for Scottish defences throughout the season.
Livingston want £1million for the 24-year-old according to this report, meaning Rangers wouldn’t have to break the bank – but as things stand, they risk missing out.
